Dale A. Miles
BA, DDS, MS, FRCD(C)
Dip. ABOM, Dip. ABOMR

So, you just bought a new CBCT scanner, or maybe you’ve been using it for a few years. You are probably seeing things you’ve never seen before in your 2-D imaging. But do you really know what you’re looking at? Your sales rep teaches you only how to position the patient and move the data around. They do not have the skills to teach you what is in the images.

•  How should you examine the scan?
•  What are some of the important findings you may uncover?
•  Can you identify all the anatomy in your scans?
•  Can you really tell what is normal and what is not?

If you concentrate only on your task, such as an implant measurement/plan, you definitely are going to miss some things in your scan which could come back to haunt you. In his fun, informative manner, Dr. Miles will answer these questions for you and demonstrate from the many cases he has reported, many of the important findings that you cannot afford to miss.

how this impacts current approaches to patient communication
